奈良美智是日本著名的当代艺术家之一，他笔下的标志性形象是大头小孩、洁白驯良的狗以及身着绵羊装的儿童，非常可爱。他一直保持以情感描述为第一，在绘画中混合了幻想和现实，并以整体的造型和艰涩的叙述方式，以及随意性的绘画和浓重的色彩，形成自己强有力的图像特征。奈良美智还经常将孤独安静的孩子放置在似乎灯光微弱的空旷空间里，从而形成其作品的特有情境。奈良美智的绘画所传递的观念，完全是他独特的意识。在他的绘画中，可以感觉到流行文化的因素，并发现这种因素长久影响着人们下意识的愿望。

As one of the most influential contemporary artists in Japan, Yoshitomo Nara creates signature images of doll-like children and animals. Children with disproportionately large heads or dressed as sheep or tamed dogs populate his paintings. The artist is primarily concerned with the emotional dimension of the work. His paintings are often the result of a powerful mix of fantasy and reality, stylistic coherence and non-linearity in narrative and spontaneous forms and rich colors. The artist often gives his work a special mood by placing the solitary child in a dark and empty space. Nara’s highly personal works show the imprint of popular culture, which invariably hinges on our desires and subconsciousness.
